How to measure a dog?

• A classic tailor's tape measure is all you need for measuring.
• Wait until the dog is resting, and measure it in its favourite position.
• Measure the length from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail.
• To allow the dog to turn comfortably in the bed, add 10–20 cm extra.

Bed size

A dog bed must be cosy yet spacious at the same time. It must not be too small so that the dog is sufficiently comfortable even when sprawled out in it. However, a bed that is too large is not ideal either, as it does not provide a sufficient sense of security. How do you measure a dog and choose the ideal bed based on its dimensions?

How to choose the right size of dog bed?

The correct size of a dog bed is crucial. Its ideal dimensions take into account not only the size of the dog itself but also its resting habits. Some furry friends like to sleep curled up in a ball, while others prefer to stretch out their paws.

A bed for small dogs is usually 40 to 60 cm long. Suitable for mini and small dog breeds such as Bichon Frise, Yorkshire Terrier, Havanese, Chihuahua, Jack Russell Terrier, Miniature Dachshund, Miniature Pinscher, Pomeranian and others.

A bed for medium dogs is usually 60 to 80 cm long. Suitable for medium dog breeds such as Beagle, Cocker Spaniel, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Sheltie, Bull Terrier, Parson Russell Terrier, English Bulldog, Poodle and others.

A bed for large dogs is usually over 80 cm long. Boxers, Border Collies, Dobermans, Greyhounds, Labradors and Golden Retrievers, Setters, Pointers, Rottweilers, Shepherds, Great Danes and other large dog breeds will love lounging in it.

Tip: If you are choosing a bed for a puppy, it is better to choose a smaller one first and expect that it will outgrow it over time and you will buy a larger one. Especially small puppies need a sense of security that was previously provided by their mother. A bed that is too large could unnecessarily stress them.

How to fluff up the bed

We deliver the pet bed in a vacuum-packed state for efficient storage and transport.

• Carefully open the bed's packaging and remove it from the vacuum packaging. The bed should gradually regain its full shape and volume.

• For optimal comfort, aerate the inner materials. Gently stretch the inner material of the bed through the outer layer so that air gets between the individual inner layers, while shaping it into the desired form so that it matches the shape shown at the time of purchase. Please repeat this process at least 4 times within 24 hours.

• To achieve the optimal shape and comfort, leave the bed unfolded for at least 24 hours on a flat and firm surface.

How to care for it

These care instructions are intended for a product made of polyester + PP cotton with hollow fibre, or another filling material. The product is characterised by quality materials and perfect workmanship. The material has a very pleasant long, medium or short pile and is equipped with a non-slip bottom for better stability.

The following instructions will help you keep the product in the best possible condition:

• Regular cleaning: We recommend regularly removing dust and dirt from the surface of the product using a soft brush or vacuum cleaner.

• Hand cleaning: To remove stains or local soiling, use a soft sponge or cloth soaked in warm water with a small amount of mild detergent. After cleaning, rinse the bed and leave it to dry.

• Machine washing: The product can be machine washed at 30°C. Before washing, carefully read the label and follow the manufacturer's instructions. We recommend using mild detergents.

• Drying: Leave the product to dry naturally or in a tumble dryer at low temperatures. Avoid high temperatures to prevent damage to the fibres.

• Storage: Store the product in a dry place to prevent mould. Do not use chemical cleaning agents or harsh chemicals that could damage the material.
